Just finished reading…

Death Comes to Pemberley, P.D. James

Not my usual style, but I was curious to see how well this fit with the original.  Amusing enough if you enjoy stories set in the early 19th century, and the style of dialogue that accompanies it.  I thought that P.D. James captured the characters from Pride and Prejudice very well, with the exception of Elizabeth – what happened to her feistiness??

The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery (originally in French: Le Petit Prince)

Utterly, utterly charming.  This should be mandatory reading for everyone,  every 2 – 3 years. Just to remind us not to be so adult about everything.

Oh thanks for the reminder … I’ve been meaning to read The Little Prince for ages … would you believe I’ve NEVER read it?!?!?!

I first read it in high school in French class – I don’t think I fully appreciated the beauty of the story when I was struggling to understand each word! So much nicer to read it leisurely now (in English!) x
