West End Twilight Markets

Last night my friend Celeste and I went to check out the West End Twilight Markets, which opened yesterday and will now run every Saturday night.

They were delightful. It was much smaller than other markets (like the Finders Keepers markets), but that’s perhaps part of why I enjoyed it so much. It was super laid back, easy to walk around, and had more of a Brisbane community feel. Also, importantly, the prices were right. Everything was affordable for someone like me (on a student’s wage), which is a far cry from the prices I’ve seen at some other markets.

The West End markets were full of homemade fashion and jewellery (I bought a charming little artwork ring for $5) and lots of vintage bits and pieces, especially tea cups and kitchen wares. There was also a live ensemble band playing and a bunch of food stalls (including a German sausage hut) to keep the men happy while the women browsed.

Definitely worth a look. The markets run from 4pm to 9pm every Saturday, on the corner of Wilson St and Boundary St, West End, Brisbane.
